Offside door mirror control moves both mirrors.

Featured Replies

I never adjust my driver's side mirror, but raise and lower my passenger mirror when reversing sometimes.

Anyway, I had reason to adjust my driver's side mirror after adjusting my passenger side mirror, and noticed that the passenger side mirror was way out of position, when I looked back at it. So I re-adjusted it.

Upon leaving, I did the same, but looked at my passenger mirror when adjusting my driver's side mirror and it lowered with the driver's side.

Is that a feature or has my car got a fault?

Personally, I don't care as it's not a problem that's more than an irritant, but it is a bit weird.

There should be a setting to switch it off

So it is a feature? How about that!

Thank you Sir, you're a gent.

It took me 12 years to work out what the feck was going on with my mirrors!

All you had to do was ask, @J.R.😄

I honestly can’t understand the point in the synchronous adjust feature. Just can’t think of a scenario where it would be useful at all.

Well I only discovered it because I needed to adjust both mirrors. If I'd known I could do it with one control, I'd have used it.

Ask what?

All I knew was that frequently when I looked out of the left mirror it was partially misaligned, I never made the connection that I had recently adjusted the other one.

When you adjust one mirror you dont expect the other to lose its position and you certainly wont be looking at it, well maybe once in 12 years 😒 Also correcting the left mirror did not do the same to the right one.

An absolutely stupid feature, maybe there is a reason for a specific user but it should not be the programmed default and in the case of the MK1 require VCDS to deactivate it.

Ask what was going on with your car on Brisky.

It could be handy if you need it, but default "off" would be better than default "on", IMO.

But of course, default "off" would mean nobody would ever know about it.

Good for reversing, get a view both sides.

My only problem is, they don't move the same, so when you come back up, they are diff and you have to adjust the left one separately anyway.....

Yes, I noticed this also. It's not much out, but it is out. Somewhat spoils the function.

Quick Guide to inhibiting this feature. Thanks @Cakemonster
