Dear members - your advice please -- my car (Octavia Mk3) needs a new exhaust rear box.  ( 1.4 tsi petrol)

My question is where to obtain one ?

My local garage (Lincolnshire) has been unable to get one - and I have made 4 online enquires 

all of whom came back and said unable to supply  

Any pointers welcomed

When you say local garage is that a main dealer? 

 

If not, try giving Hortons Skoda a call in Lincoln.

 

If you would prefer not to use the main dealer for fitting then they should still be able to supply the part for you to take away.

 

Have the garages given long lead times or just unable to get one at all?

Thank you for your response I have contacted Hortons and currently awaiting their reply.

Local garage is that (Local) Village garage who service my car .

4 online exhaust suppliers all said unable to supply.

Information for others reference trying to get an exhaust for my car

Skoda UK  reply = contact your local dealership. So I did.

Hortons, Skoda (Lincoln)  have today (30/6/23) advised me that there is no exhaust in the UK for my Octavia. 1.4 TSI petrol.

Only way to get one would be via order, placed at dealership and the exhaust would be ordered for me and

would come from the Czech Republic at a cost of £320 inc' vat - and take 7 - 10 days for delivery.

I am looking at potentially having it welded locally.

Can I ask what happened to the exhaust?

It has a rust split about a foot long in the outer skin of the rear exhaust box (MOT advisory)

Unlucky. Can't remember the last time I had to replace anything to do with an exhaust system. Probably why there is no stock, no demand.

Its a exhaust box. Find your local exhaust guy.  I had a compleat exhaust made for my 7 from the manifold back for £150 in stainless while I waited.

That was on Anglesey right in the sticks,

FROM SKODA UK == There is NO exhaust in stock in the UK for my car - It would have to be ordered   (Octavia petrol  1.4 Tsi 2014)

from the Czech Republic, would take two weeks for delivery and was priced at £320 inc' vat  (Rear box only).

Please note this is SKODA UK - reply , verbatim -------- And then they had the cheek to ask "How did we do" for their survey ????

My exhaust box has now been plated / welded locally.
