Replaced CV axle on passenger side, reassembled, not shifting?

Featured Replies

I replaced my CV axle a few weeks ago, haven't ran it because been doing other work on it.

I can shift into any gear, I hear it engaging in the gearbox, release clutch, nothing.

I can move the lower linkage and move it backwards and forwards, not sure how the upper one moves - going to video under while I shift.

I know you're supposed to use something to retain the internals of the gearbox with the cv axle removed, I didn't do this because I immediately installed the new axle.

What gives? It's only revving, there's zero load on the engine. Is a pickup 1.9D

It couldn't possibly be that, never in a million years woul- YEP! Bloody splines weren't seated, reinstalled and it goes BRRRRR!

Hahaha

Yep, did this job myself a couple of months back, and had to give the inner CV joint some serious Welly with a hammer to get it to engage with the differential gear.
