Vehicle options ... probably Audi A3 or Toyota Corolla Hybrid ... circa 2020 models

Featured Replies

It has been a long time coming and I think I have now discounted the Merc A class and its CLA also ... I like the CLA but not so keen on it's interior, so...........

Any thoughts on the Title cars, especially from current or previous owners (around this specific model year) would be greatly appreciated.

I see the A3 has been around in this guise since 2013 with just a facelift in 2016 ...... I would probably look at the Black Edition if I go for this. They look smart IMO in this spec BUT i think the third gen maybe looks a little dated.

I test drove a Corolla Touring (I would go this model) today and it was certainly different ...... I quite like it's shape and it's interior too so currently thinking this may be the choice if I find the right one but maybe I need to test drive the A3 first. I did like my petrol A4 2.0T.

Cheers

If, more likely when, we come down to one car, the frontrunner, for me, is the Toyota Corolla Touring Sports.  We've several locally that are Taxi's.

I've always liked A3's, I think pretty much in all their iterations.

Yes, I'm definitely NOT having a White or Silver one and probably not a Primer Grey one either ............

I don't want folk flagging me down in town, Lol

Colour is the one particular choice that I am still pondering Gaz.

Never driven an A3 but I have had two Corolla Hybrid hire cars, one a hatch the other an estate. I was pleasantly surprised how nice they were and would seriously consider replacing the wife's Octavia with a Corolla estate when the time comes. After the Octavia I found the Corolla hatch to have relatively little boot space, although others will be more than happy with the boot space of the hatch.

This is the one I test drove last weekend ...

I was quite surprised to be just given the keys and said to bring it back in 15 to 20 minutes.

Too many miles on this one but I'm starting to warm to the Primer (Manhattan) grey colour ......... hmmm

Looks nice, I've seen a few Manhattan Grey ones around, wouldn't be my first choice but colour is a very personal decision.

Perhaps also consider the Suzuki Swace, built by Toyota alongside the Corolla, virtually identical.

Ooh a Corolla Hybrid Estate...jealous! Not available in Australia, we are only allowed bloated "SUV" type vehicles.

Had a hire Corolla Hybrid Sedan, but an economy focused 1.8L, a couple of years back. Blown away by the excellent consumption, even on the open highway with speeds upto the 130kph speed limit where the hybrid functions were not supposed to contribute much.

My only criticism was a lot of tyre roar noise on the course tarmac surfaced highways in the Northern Territories, it was virtually silent on the smooth surfaced roads of Darwin.
