Front hub nut for skoda fabia 1

Featured Replies

I am changing the front CV, outer joint, on my Skoda Fabia mark 1 - 2006.

I need to get the Front Hub nut off and a You-Tube video shows a 36mm bi-hex

Socket being used. I want to check on the Socket type and size as i need to

buy the Socket.

Please does anyone know the socket size.

Yes you are correct 36mm bi-hex works on these nuts, I played safe and bought a Draper deep impact strength socket as that meant getting a socket that had a thin enough wall to allow it down into the counterbore on the hub.

I think that some people just bought a normal depth bi-hex socket and that worked.

Yes, it's a 36mm bi-hex as you correctly state.

After the outer CV joint is removed from the wheel hub, how should the cv joint be removed from the shaft? A You Tube video shows the hub bolt being

screwed back into the cv joint and that removes it from the shaft but I think it is a different Skoda then my Fabia mark 1. On other cars I have had, I knocked off the cv joint off with a hammer but it might damage the inner joint on this car. I haven't got a special tool to do it. Will I have to unscrew the inner joint and then tap off the outer joint? thanks.
