KESSY Key Fob Shell Replacement

Featured Replies

Hi Everyone,

I would like to get some help with my KESSY key fob. It seems one of my key fob is faulty, it drains a CR2032 battery in one week. I have tried multiple brands from multiple shops but none of the battires made through one week in the key. Currently I'm testing my spare key which seems to be working fine. I think I'm using it for almost 2 weeks now without any issues.

Anyway, before buying a new key, my first idea was to buy a new shell for the key, and clean the "connectors?" on the motherboard of the key with isopropyl alcohol.

Unfortunately I'm not able to dismantle the key. I cannot remove the top metal part.

Does anyone know how could I remove it without damaging the key? I cannot find any documentation or video guide on this topic.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Enisz

The case itself is just a piece of plastic.

If there is a drain on the battery and a fault with the key itself then you’ll simply need to replace the entire key.

The keys themselves are sealed fairly tight so unless it’s been submerged in water, the circuit board should be unaffected.

I was thinking replacing the shell because the plastic cover is cracked and the metal part has some scratches.

I was trying to find solutions on the battery drain issue and I found some forums and videos, where people are telling that cleaning the connectors where the battery contacts the motherboard could help. This sounds way cheaper than a new key.
