Skoda Octavia VRS xenon problem

Featured Replies

Hi!

Both headlight will dim about 20-30% after starting.
Xenon AFS headlights with led stripe, pre-facelift.
It's not the typical ''xenon arc will ignite and be brighter and then warm up''.
Bulbs are new Osram D3S Laser, alternator is working fine and battery is 3months old Exide (would say that also new).
At first it thought that maybe ballast but both headlight will dim at the same time.
Any ideas?

Bulbs already hot, after driving, keep eye on the grass at the end. In person dimming is even worse and light output is weak,

weird one!

Issue with the auto levelling pointing the lights at the floor?

Had a GTI with a faulty levelling motor and the lights shot directly in front of the nose of the car, so the distance seemed really dark.

You mention the bulbs are new, did you have the same issue before you swapped the bulbs?

Also, where did the bulbs come from as there are lots of fakes out there...

Hi guys!

Lights point right level, not nose down. 🙂

And i had same issue before bulb swap. Bulbs are now 4moths old(kinda new for me). And bulbs are genuine, checked the. Might try new ballast but kinda seems like the issue is with module/sensor orsm.

I'd be tempted to check the voltage input to the two ballasts to see if that matches the battery/alternator voltage or not. Just be careful not to go near the high voltage side!
