New Model - Dragon Digital Tuning Box?

Featured Replies

My mate has a Fabia vRS just like mine in beautiful Silver. He has just purchased a Dragon Digital Tuning Box. We put it on his car this afternoon and went for a little test drive, didn't really notice much difference at all, apart from maybe revving a little easier at higher revs.

The instructions explained that there are 7 settings and that the single jumper would be set in the middle position when the unit was supplied ie. 000|000.

Upon opening the unit we found that the jumper was in fact set on the fifth terminal ie. 0000|00

As there wasn't a huge performance gain, he decided to move the jumper to the far right (to the edge of the casing) to the max setting ie. 000000|

Another test drive proved much more successful...:D (I'm tempted to get one myself...:D) A little soot on initial welly down, and a steady flow (minor) when the pedal was pushed into the carpet...

He let me have a little go, I noticed driving normally that around 1750-1800rpm that the car felt like it was towed (the rope catching up), not the smoothest delivery. :thumbdwn:

ANYHOW... 7 settings!, everyone else on here bangs on about four terminals, several jumpers and 16 settings! Has he got the wrong one? He has just got it direct from Dragon and advised that he had got the Fabia 1.9 vRS, so what going on, have dragon changed there unit?

Help would be appreciated for my Computerphopic friend!

Thanks

Chris

:bump:

sounds like a different box to me, the ones I have seen and fitted for people have 16 settings..................(still have one for

My dragon digital for my superb has the 7 settings aswell.

Can't remember how many mine had - I'd personally start somewhere in the middle of the range and then work upwards if you want more power/smoke ;)

Anyone else?

Mine has 7 jumpers, the box is grey as well if that helps, I had a different one sent ot me as the original played havoc with the ECU (faults and ASR lights etc).

The man at dragon said there were a few cases of post 2004 TDI's disagreeing with the standard dragon digi box and the second one proved to be more successful.

Mine was on setting 7 (nearest pin to the casing) and it went like stink.

And yes, the car is a little jerky but you will learn to compensate for that quite quickly.

Probably doesn't do the engine mounts much good though......

Mine has 7 jumpers, but I always thought that was because mine was designed for the PD100.

..mine has 16 settings. I have it set to 14 and it makes one hell of a difference! I have taken it out of the car twice for service - the car feels powerless in comparison.

I got mine direct from Mr Hoot for my 05 plate FabVRS.
