Missing Software

Featured Replies

Would an Indy be able install missing software on my Superb or will I have to visit the dreaded Skoda dealer for this?

The driving Mode button is not working and I suspect the car is stuck in Eco mode. I believe that apertureS confirmed previously that the software was installed as part of the original build but it has now gone AWOL

If you give some more information about the previous thread from ApertureS & your car details you are more likely to get a reply.

Had it always been like this, has it occurred recently etc

Never worked since I got it 3 years ago and I'm the 2nd owner. I'm guessing it got wiped during a  visit to either Skoda or Halfords as they were the only two places it ever went to for repairs and servicing prior to me getting it.

It had been a lease car to Southern Water before I got it and shows no signs of it being pimped so don't suppose the previous owner played about with it.

As I said before the driving mode software was recorded as being installed as per original build details.

Just want to know where I need to go to get it re-installed.

Are you sure it's not just a broken button?

It's quite unlikely that a Skoda garage or Halfords would change the configuration of your car during a normal service.

Is there no way to access the driving mode menu through the infotainment?

That was how ApertureS checked that the software was missing. It's a while ago now but he talked me through what to look for and we discovered it was no longer there.

The button seems to work. It lights up every time I press it, just does nothing.

With due respect this question just needs a simple yes or no answer.

It depends.

If it had driving modes from factory and there are no wiring/button faults. Any dealer/garage using ODIS with an online connection to VAG can restore the original dataset/coding/licenses which should fix it.

If it didn't have driving modes and someone has just added the button. Then you'll need to find a third party retrofitter to apply any dataset/licenses required.
