Badge Sticky Stuff

Featured Replies

Does anyone know what is good for sticking the badges back on? I'm thinking of putting the VRS badge back on the back, plus I need to stick the front grill badge on that I got from the scrappy, after some thieving git nicked mine.

Either Skoda cred is going up or they were illiterate.

Iwant something similar to the original double sided tape. Anything stronger and if they want the badges they might damage the paint trying to get them off.

It's called trim tape (it's very sticky either side and has a thin layer of foam in the middle) and can be bought at Halfrauds!

Might not work so well on the grille badge though...

No more nails might be too good.

I used 3M tape - it comes in neat little squares, and its holding up well in the 45 deg heat here. It comes in an outdoor variety that is pretty good...

Cleaning the places to stick together with alcohol is essential obviously.

If you want to be mean - include a broken-off razor blade under the badge!!!! (Easier to wipe off some ****'s blood than to replace a badge).

Cheers

Double-sided tape. 3M is the best you can get, they tolerate extremely high temperatures.

Nah... Comes off easily with the use of a hair dryer:thumbup:

Most of us live in the UK - 30c is unsually high for us, the most important thing is can it tollerate 6weeks of non-stop raining and wind?

the original grill badge is glued on at the factory with something that looks like super glue , when i recently refitted mine on my new grill i used Super Glue gel , it takes a little longer to go off but it doesn't run everywhere as it is a gel , just measure the slat spacing on the grill and run some of the gel on the back of the badge at the correct spacing then fit to grill and hold for about 30 seconds
