Meguiars water magnet

Featured Replies

Well I've read many things about the meguiars water magnet on this forum and decided to buy one today.

My god...... How did I ever survive without it???

Took me about 7 minutes to dry my car completely, no marks, no streaks, and certainly no water :D

Didn't need to rinse it once on the MR2 and it had plenty left to go before you even needed to think about rinsing it...

Well impressed, its more expensive than chamois granted, but a hell of a lot better.

Trust me, ditch the chamois and buy one of these

p.s new job at Meguiars is going well  joke :P

I just bought this a couple of days ago, and its true. This product is fantastic, even on black cars. It REALLY REALLY reduces the drying time.

You've got an MR2

Bit of a thread hijack, sorry!

Can you put the water magnet in the washing machine to 'clean' it, after someone (one of my parents) accidentally dropped it on the floor!

Yeah, you can just throw it in there. No softner though.

Yeah, you can. Just make sure that all the grit is gone before you use it again as they're not that soft so could scratch if dirty...

I'm about to order a few Aquatouch Drying Towels on order from Alex at Serious Performance at the moment. They're quite a bit softer than the megs water magnets that I use at the moment, and they're waffle weave as well, so I'm hoping that they'll be even better -

I haven't used this Meguirs product but I bought myself a POORBOYS WORLD MICROFIBRE WAFFLE WEAVE DRYING TOWEL this week and having washed and dried my car this evening I was very impressed by its ability to soak up the water and not leave any spots or marks.

Do any of you know how it compares to the Water Magnet product you have praised in this thread? Are they fairly similar in ability and quality?

I got the Poorboys too. Very good indeed.

I think the Poorboys ones are slightly plusher than the Megs Water magnet, so in theory I guess it should be a bit better... The Aquatouch ones are plusher still than the Poorboys ones so should be fantastic when I get around to ordering them :D
