Selecting Side Lights

Featured Replies

New to my Mk4 VRS, but am struggling with the lights button.

if I’m stationary I can select sidelights, but if I’m moving I have just Dipped/Auto as options.

For work I have to approach checkpoints at night and am required to approach driving on sidelights only, so the security people aren’t blinded by the headlights but I’m struggling to see how to achieve this?

any ideas? Is this something I can code in if it’s not present already?

Needs to be coded. OBD11 has a one-click app to do that.

Is that a lost in Translation or a VW Group use of 'Parking Lights'  and what is known in the UK as 'side lights' or 'position lights'?

Sidelights are not 'Parking lights' in the UK.  one front and one rear light at the road side with the indicator stalk down and the cars ignition off is the 'Parking lights' on.

Yeah it’s lost in translation.

Thanks for the tip, I enabled it using the app on OBDEleven.

It actually allows access to the full lights menu while driving (auto, dipped, sidelights (DRL only), and OFF) - the same as you get when stationary, and does not limit it when driving as is the standard case (Auto + Dipped), the full menu remains useable.

Great mod, allows full driver control of the lights with no nonsense.
