Front parking sensor always activated

Featured Replies

Hi all, any advice welcome. 2015 Octavia 3 elegance.

My front drivers side sensor is intermittently but more often than not, detecting something which isn't there. It activates under about 15mph and beeps, it's very annoying in traffic or when actually trying to park. It thinks something is close as the line is red on the display.

I've checked and no fault codes stored on odb 11 but I've found some setting which could reset it? Not sure so haven't tried photo attached

Also the physical sensor looks like it has corrosion on it, could this be the issue..? Photo attached. Are they easy to replace? Colour coded black with the car?

Help appreciated and the first real annoying fault I've had in 5 years so fingers crossed it's not the start of something

That bubbling face of the parking sensor will be the exact cause of the fault.

the parking sensors automatically enable below 15mph if something is really close. So this sensor being damaged will make the car think something is really close.

replace the sensor :)

Do you happen to know a part number or where to find one? Is it hard to swap?

Could I just 'clean off' the corrosion, even if it just left the bare black plastic but worked I wouldn't really care, my car is just a family wagon and don't get to look after it as I would like

Thanks again
