Cylinder 2 misfiring yeti 1.2 TSI petrol 2011 reg

Featured Replies

Hello Everyone,

After I  changed the oil the plugs and the HT leads on my yeti 1.2 Tsi , I have noticed that the engine had a slight misfiring , when I plugged in the scanner to diagnose it came up with cylinder 2 misfire detected.

First how do I know where the cylinder 2 is ?? ( is anyone has a photo that would be great).

And secondly the leads are new the plugs are new and the coil pack is new.

Any help will be appreciated thank you in advance.

Cheers,

Hello Sam, the engine cylinders are numbered with cylinder 1 nearest the cambelt (or chain) On Skoda's, this is normally the left end of engine when standing in front of car.

@Sam91  Did you check each of the Pre-gapped plugs were gapped correctly and had not been knocked and are you sure you got the plugs in without knocking one and closing the gap a bit?

Recheck the Coil is seated well on the plug.

Hi, at one time when I finished the service, I turned the ignition on and the engine management sign came on and the skidding car sign as well in the same time, I went and checked the engine and I find out that I didn't push one of the ignition leads in properly so I put it right,  so on this time when I turned the ignition on again the warning lights disappeared.

But when I plugged in the engine diagnostic scan it shows the cylinder 2 misfiring detected.

Am I suppose to delete the fault and re-scan after what all happened??

Yes.
