Updating Amundsen SatNav for 2015 Octavia Elegance

Featured Replies

Help needed!

I needed to update the map data for my Amundsen unit, having got lost in Cambridgeshire as lots of new roads (stopped off in a service area and bought a new map book to get me on correct route).  Went to Skoda website, entered my VIN number and downloaded file it gave me.

Unzipped file and followed closely the instructions on formatting as FAT32 and then copied files to the original card.  Didn't seem to work.

Attached photos are first, from before I tried the update and second, is what I now see.

If anyone can offer a solution, I would be grateful.  Local dealers are not helpful.

You've more than likely copied the outer/containing folder and the map contents to the sd card. It's a common mistake that people make but this prevents the unit from reading the card. Format the sd card again and then only copy the folder named " maps " to the sd card ( no outer folder ). That should sort it ( if that's what I think you've done but take into account that I'm also assuming the map structure for your MIB1 Amundsen is the same as my MIB2 Amundsen - I could be wrong though! ).

Did you unlock the sd card first when put in comp ,i updated mine last weekend ,just deleted maps and other file from sd card ,dowloaded new maps and other little file that came with it ,and then i just copied both straight to sd card ,slid the lock back over and popped in car all good ,i did nothing about fat32 and mine were champion 👍

Be aware that as you have a 2015 model it's a MIB1 Amundsen and that the latest maps available are 2020 maps - no newer ones will be available.
