2016 Fabia OBD2 Vgate 450 not linking

Featured Replies

Purchased a 2016 Fabia a couple of months ago. Car has been running well but tonight the engine light came on. I already own a Vgate 450 OBD2 unit I’ve used successfully on my 2006 Octavia and 2006 Polo. But for some reason it won’t link to the Fabia.

I was just curious on the fault cause - do I need to do anything to put the car in diagnostics mode or should it theoretically just work?

Luckily the car is under Skoda warranty so they’ll be getting a call tomorrow.

Can this scan tool be updated?

Did you buy it before the Fabia III came out?

I have bought this obd2 device in the attached picture which works fine on VW Passat GTE (hybrid) but it doesn't connect to Skoda Fabia 2016, which is an older model than VW Passat. Does anyone know what obd2 dongle works with Skoda Fabia MK3?20231026_185358.thumb.jpg.cfe54bbcf1556c96fbd15944617d5102.jpg

If you have more than one VAG car then look at this:-
