Auto boot lid opening on estate

Featured Replies

Hi - I am having real problems with the foot operated opening of the boot lid on my MKIV Octavia estate VRs PHEV

I picked the car up last week (23 months afetr ordering !!) - and the foot operated boot lid sometimes wortk and sometimes doesnt.

Am I doing something wrong ?

Anyone else had similar ?

I have the same issue, I struggle to make it work but I can make it work after really trying. My wife seems to be able to do it first time every time even though! Try bringing your foot up to the number and then back down again, not a side movement. Also make sure you have the easy open function enabled.

Is it not the same action on all the VAG vehicles

in and out not side to side

I found a quick "in and out" rather than "side to side" works a lot better.

Even after 13 months, I still struggle to get the knack right but others at home have the knack from day one....

Having trouble with this also. Does your foot need to be dead centre of the bumper, or a little to one particular side? It's a very hit and miss maneuver for sure!

I stand just off centre so that the kicking foot is dead centre.

You could try making sure you dont have your car key in the same pocket as your mobile phone, there is something in phone signals that interferes with the car and key recognising each other... I had the same problem on a Volvo, moved the key to my other pocket and problem solved...

Weirdly - started working again.

It worked for my wife, then I copies her "style" - so maybe it was operator error.
