SAFE message on Maxidot

Featured Replies

Hi,

Last night for the first time since I bought the car just over a year ago I noticed that it said SAFE on the Maxidot screen where it would normally show the trip miles.  Does anyone know what it means?

Does the car start and drive okay? Typically SAFE is shown when the immoboliser isnt happy. Perhaps a fault, or an unauthorised key?? Is your EPC light showing when engine is lit, and does the key remote unlock work?

Everything else is ok.  I haven't noticed the message come up again.

@Trekker3000Is the Cruise Control set there even with the car stopped?

Or is it the Speed Limit?

Its the cruise control.  I was just using it before I stopped.  I use it a lot so it something gets left on.

Is the SAFE because the doors are still locked until yours or the passenger opens one?

Usually the question asked here is about the 'Safelock'  warning before leaving the car, reminding not to double lock occupants in the car.

I still haven’t worked it out. I’ve tried various combinations of things but hasn’t come up again.
