What is the solution to this problem in the Skoda Octavia 2019?

Try a genuine Apple cable, some cables are only for charging not data transfer.

I used the original cable but it didn't work.

What's the back story? Has this ever worked? Have you changed the phone? etc.....

Perhaps try following the Apple guide:

https://support.apple.com/en-gb/HT210892

What country are you based in?

Israel

Should be fine, I'd suggest going through everything else on that apple link :)

I know he supports my country. I tried everything but it didn't work. I contacted Apple Support and nothing worked

Sounds like CarPlay may not be  enabled on the MIB2 unit, it requires a SwAP code that is VIN specific. I had to have this done when I bought my 2016 with a MIB2 Amundsen to get CarPlay working.

That would normally tell you to contact a dealer.

Looking at the picture, it's very much pointing at the phone and/or connection.

Assuming the OP has correctly followed the Apple advice, I'd probably try factory resetting the headunit next. If that fails, the cars USB socket or even USB wiring may have an issue 😕

How can I do this?

I don't think there is a problem with the iPhone cable or the USB port, because Android works fine

Unless you have an iPhone 15 the cable will be different for an Android phone, as up to iPhone 14 they have a Lightning socket not a USB-C?

CarPlay and Android Auto are enabled using different FEC codes so it's entirely possible for one to work and the other not.

So are you using an Apple certified cable?

Yes Original Apple cable

Looking at the picture, the headunit is trying to start CarPlay. If this were a FeC issue, I would expect a message saying contact a dealer.

Bored of guessing now given this thread started two months ago!

Find a friend(s) with an iphone and a working CarPlay enabled car...

You can then try all combinations to narrow this down:

- Your car, your phone, your cable

- Your car, your phone, their cable

- Your car, their phone, your cable

- Your car, their phone, their cable

- Their car, your phone, your cable

- Their car, your phone, their cable

- Their car, their phone, your cable

- Their car, their phone, their cable

That will tell you exactly where your problems is likely to be...

Alternatively, maybe try a headunit firmware update but I'd be surprised.

Not much more I can add.

Hi all,

Happy to report that in my case, on a 2019 Karoq, updating the firmware from 0475 to 0478 actually fixed the problem!

*The iPhone is an Apple 14 Pro / iOS version 18.2.1

*The system I believe is Amundsen MIB2 or 2.5.

Just to say, unfortunately this revelation occurred after paying hundreds of Euros for 2 different "official" Skoda garages to look into that issue, one of which replaced the USB socket, that did not work... The second place eventually came back after supposedly talking with "Manufacturer engineers", with the problem still unsolved, asking to replace the whole bloody unit for 1800EUR.

Anyways I did exactly as the video shows here, completely for free:

Now it works perfectly, took less then an hour all in all.

Good luck.
