Octavia IV 2023: any way to change default of light setting?

Featured Replies

Hello!

I recently upgraded from Octavia 2020 to Octavia IV 2023 (workplace leased car).

On the old model there was a multy-position switch for the front lights (also for fog lights)

but on the new model, in common with tradition of companies to save on pennies, they

replaced that switch with a simple push button which instructs software to rotate among few values: "Auto", "low beam", something else and "off".

At each start the initial selection is "auto" which I can't use: where I live (in Israel) from 1/11 through 31/3 driving on intercity

roads must be done with lights ON but since most of the winter days are bright, the "auto" setting will turn OFF the lights

and I might get fined if I forget to switch to "low beam" (and on bright day nothing reminds about "no lights").

While on the old model I just left the switch always in the "ON" state (since turning OFF the ignition turned OFF the lights too)

on the new model I need to change the lights setting at each start which I know I'll sometimes forget and it might cost me a fine.

Is there any way to make my lights selection default?

Thanks in advance!

No experience but I think coding via OBD11 will be the only way forward.
