Front Electric Windows

Featured Replies

Hi, owned a 2006 VRS for a few months now and have been trying to get the front windows to work, I might be talking an old subject here but after reading it all I cant see a solid fix. I would unplug the fuse for a few seconds and then the drivers window would work for a few minutes, then stop. I realised I had the wrong motor so bought a new one, both windows worked for about 5 minutes after installing and now it doesn’t work at all, its the right motor, the wiring is fine and ive checked the fuses. Does the comfort control module have anything to do with this or is that a waste of time and money to replace? Cheers

Comfort control module (whichever of the two modules commonly referred to as such) isn't really involved at all in any active sense for facelift mk1s.

Which part number was fitted in driver's side door, and which is now? (Ideally including the bottom row of info on the label, starting with SK or VW).

Most likely a driver's side module failure, see 'Entrepreneur Zone' sub-forum if a repair is desired.

Extremely common for ebay ones to be incorrectly described and/or not really working fully.
