Diesel Addtive

Featured Replies

With a search through the forums, I have seen that people are using Millers Diesel Power Plus. Millers Website advertises this product as "A highly efficient fuel treatment to add to diesel fuel to enhance combustion and performance." while another product which we use for our pick-up van found on Gunk's website is advertised as "Heavy Duty Injector Cleaner". Seeing both detailed product descriptions, both seem to be doing the same thing. Has anybody had any particular experience with Gunk's option or any other diesel fuel additives? If it is of benefit I would like to use it on my TDI 90 Octavia `03 but since I'm not sure of the advantages of using it on our old pick-up van, I am bit reluctant...

I've used Millers for a few years now and I find it does give smoother running and maybe slightly perkier performance.

IIRC it does have an injector cleaner in it, but the main thing is the cetane booster.

TBH its effects were much more noticable on my old IDI Peugeot 205.

I've yet to try it in the new vRS.

It also has lubrication additives to help counter the lack of sulpur on modern fuel, as the sulphur also acted as a lubricant for the fuel pump.

I always use millers, Ive seen evidence of what ultra low sulpher diesal will do to a fuel pump! A firends land rover who does about 30000 miles a year had to have a new pump, the reason given was the fuel and the lack of sulpher to lubricate it. Millers is not expensive and you get 3 effects for the price of one. Cleans and protects and fuel system. Lubricates the fuel pump. Increase in performance.
