Horn Error - DTC 01134 Skoda

Recommended Posts

Hi All,

I've encountered an error code with some unusual symptoms – DTC 01134 Skoda.

Yesterday, I parked the car, went into the house, and about two minutes later, the alarm went off. This occasionally happens, so I unlocked the car, ensured the driver's side door was properly closed, and relocked it. However, two minutes later, the alarm activated again.

After scanning the car, I found the following error. I drove around the block, cleared the error, and tried again, but the alarm went off once more. Thinking the internal sensor might be the issue, I went to switch it off at the pillar. That's when I noticed the light wasn't on!

I also observed that when locking the car, the light on the door card blinks four times, then remains solid red for about 25 seconds before starting to blink again. This is new to me; I always thought it just blinked.

Back in 2020, I replaced the alarm siren due to the classic acid leak issue with a unit from AliExpress, which has been working great. When I lock and unlock the car, I still hear the beeps.

I'm wondering if the recent heavy rains in the UK might have affected the wiring, or if it's time to replace the siren again?

Would appreciate your thoughts!

Search for the "blink code" you're seeing; It probably means something.

This is from the Driver's Manual of a 2011 build car (such as mine built end of 2011 and first registered in March 2012).

Not mentioned in the manual for 2012 build cars.

Indicator light in the driver's door
After locking the vehicle, the warning light flashes for around 2 seconds in quick
succession, afterwards it begins to flash evenly at longer intervals.

If the vehicle is locked and the safe securing system is not operating, the indicator light in the driver door flashes for about 2 seconds fast, goes out and starts to flash evenly at longer intervals after about 30 seconds.

If the indicator light first of all flashes fast for about 2 seconds, afterwards lights up for about 30 seconds and then flashes slowly, there is a fault in the system of the central locking or the interior monitor. Visit a specialist garage to obtain assistance.

Ok so I need to go to the garage but can anyone think of anything I can try before hand?

Update I have replaced the internal alarm sensor but still have the same problem. What I have noticed is that when I sit in the car and set it off the lights flash but no siren mind you I may not leave it on long enough to kick in if there is a delay!?

I think I will need to send this into the auto electrics to solve the problem.

Ok this one is solved I had to change the Alram Siren again that sits under the wheel arch 20 min job to do!!!!

All error codes gone and the alarm seems to work well and as expected. Only thing I have to solve now is the switch to turn off the internal alarm sensor (on the driver side piller) as this seems to now work has anyone done this?
