I replaced a coil pack on my partners misfiring 52 reg Octavia RS yesterday, it's running properly now but she say's the check engine light is still on. Is this normal or have I broken something?

Also its due it 40,000 mile service soon, can anyone tell me wether the coil packs are going to be replaced as part of the service?

You've sorted the problem but not cleared the error on the ECU hence the CEL...IMHO. You can clear using VAGCOM or ask you dealer.

Mention the coil packs to the dealer..they should be changed FOC.

Adrian is correct , the coil packs was coverd in to a 5th year of warranty on those.

Even if they have not gone down yet they should be replaced with the updated ones.

Give your dealer a call and get him to check the others out.

If you have your recipt for the coil that could be credited too
