Dead elements on the LCD panel. It also won't display 0, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 or 9 correctly. 

 

I'm afraid that repairing the display will mean getting a new panel, so I'd suggest just living with it.

Ok thank you for your reply , I don’t mind living with it as it is , I was just worried it would fail at next m o t because of it

I very much doubt it would be a problem at MOT. :)
