Beginning of the week got my Infotainment system updated to version 1941, along with the SOS unit firmware being updated, due to a whole list of issues (including unable to become Primary user).  Whilst this has seemingly been a success I think a new bug might have been introduced.

 

Now, when I lock the car the virtual cockpit lights up with the speedometer / rev counter display and stays illuminated for approx 1 minute, then that turns off and then the buttons (Menu / Home etc.) around the Infotainment main screen illuminate and stay on constantly.  Parked the car last night when I noticed this new “behaviour” and confirmed this morning that the button lights were still lit.

 

Whilst  the draw of the battery is likely minor it still doesn’t seem to be correct behaviour?  Occurred to me that perhaps an OTA map update might be in progress and wondered if that may change how it behaves but can’t confirm if there is an update happening.

 

i did find a post reporting similar behaviour but seemed inconclusive so wondered if anyone had any insight.

You tried looking at car without the keys on you? Think it lights up that stuff if it recognises keys near car

This seemed to happen for a day or two but then stopped and everything now working as expected wether I have key on me or not.
