Rear seat heating retrofit possible?

Featured Replies

My Octavia NX (PHEV Combi) came without the ordered rear seat heating. Believe me, it's a nice feature here in Finland and my kids wished for that, because the previous car had it too. The new car has Climatronic also for the rear seats which is required when ordering rear seat heating.

My car dealer will return to this tomorrow, but would be nice to know is retrofitting (even unofficial) possible? Does anyone here know about the topic? I couldn't find information on Google.

Yes it can be done. Ive done it myself.

You have 3 zone climate control, in which case it can be done fairly straight forward. New seat heating mats, custom loom, coding and a replacement rear panel.

So it is possible. I guess my local dealer don't want to do it, so where did you get the needed parts and how hard was the installation?

That's interesting.

For @migis in kufatec.com you can purchase the harness and a coding dongle if you do not have VCDS or OBDEleven.

Reference for heating mats and rear panel climate control can be found in partslink24.com

Cheers.

Thanks for your help so far.

I have OBDEleven and used it when coding my old Octavia III.

Never used partslink24.com or similar services. So do I need to make a subscription and after that I can search the correct parts and order them? Or is it the same if I order Skoda Erwin for one hour and download all the IV (NX) documents from there and check the parts numbers from the documents?

Do you have any information on how much the parts cost?

Yes, you have to create an account and pay a subscription. As far as I am aware, in Erwin you will not find info regarding part numbers.

I have no clue about the cost of the parts, sorry.

True

LLL parts is a handy reference currently for parts info and prices, as they sell parts.  Prices may not match Skoda dealership ones exactly (could be less even), but will give an idea.

Quite (but not completely) up-to-date compared to many online offerings:

@migis
How far have you come with a retrofitted rear seat heater?
In Finland too, and have a phev, but not 3 zon ac, is a must? Can it be done later / in progress with rear heated seats?

I didn't do it. Heard somewhere that it is not so easy to install seat heating mats and put seat upholstery back nicely.

It's not difficult at all, just time consuming. Patience is required

All wiring diagrams are available on Erwin
We buy our parts from a trade only supplier, you could speak to your local dealer

@East_Yorkshire_Retrofits

Thx for answer, just as a newbie in Skoda's. What is Erwin? It's a free SW or some thing trough Skoda dealership?
