Hi can someone tell me if I could upgrade my infotainment system in my 2020 Octavia vrs challenge hatchback. I would like to still keep my sat nav, sd cards and also add an cd multichanger which can play mp3 CDs as well. This is the one I have at the minute. Many thanks. 

That's just the screen, the "intelligence" is in the unit it the glovebox/

Yep I know it’s just the head unit. I am wanting to know if there is a unit that will fit in the glove box that has a cd, sat nav SD and SD card built into it? Would love to be able to have a multi changer in the boot as well.

Sounds like you need a MIB2 or MIB2.5 Columbus to get a CD drive.

 

As for the multi-changer, dream on - AFAIK they have never been available in the Octavia 3.

Would my Amundsen head unit fit a Columbus external module unit that has CD/SD slots? Does the Columbus module have the sat nav facility built into it as well or do they do a Amundsen module that has the CD/SD card slots and Sat Nav built into it? 

Your terminology is confused. The screen in the centre console is just that, a screen and nothing more. The main unit is in the glovebox and contains ALL the "intelligence".

 

Both Amundsen and Columbus have sat nav.

 

You appear to have a 2020 model so unless the infotainment experts say otherwise I THINK your screen will work with a Columbus main unit - but best to get @pab567to confirm that.

 

Since all the intelligence is in the main (glovebox) unit you'll need to check a Columbus replacement has the features you currently have enabled via SWaP AND it will need the coding and adaptation channels set to match your car - it's NOT plug'n'play without the help of an expert.

Colombus should not fit your screen as it has a higher resolution

Not with mib2 as fitted in 2020. Mib2 screens are interchangeable.
