remap on 1.8t rs

Featured Replies

Just had the car remaped by chippedire.com . The power has improved greatly and no wiring changes were made. It was done through the OBD11 slot and I cannot believe it ....... the car is better on fuel!!!! Highly Recommended.. :)

Better on fuel? I thought, due to the addictive power. they'd go down?

Glad your happy with it!

The reason it is better is that we adjust the fueling and timing at small throttle settings , it works very well . up to 3 or 4 mpg difference proven .

The map supplied was a custom map altered using the dimsport Race program . it put he car upto 235 bhp from 180 hp

How many times on the rollers was it run? Before and after ?

Not to knock you, but 235bhp on a standard 1.8t running on 95 octane ( 98 octane in the Republic isn't readily available is it?) is not possible without major changes to the rest of the car...

I do agree though on the mpg improving, but unfortunately most of us compensate with a little more lead on the foot which evens it out... :D

Its running shell 98 octane , 220hp would be the max on 95 ron

So 235bhp from a remap alone?

Any mods in place on the car? Turboback exhaust, fmic etc?

non std car .

Figures are a bit far fetched i fear!

Most i think you could expect with a map alone is 215 ish. But some cars are a bit stronger than others.

Without an FMIC you wouldnt see anything like 215 on a hot day anyway.

Mine runs 250 even on a hot day! Mmmmmm might just have decided to get a spray kit now.

235? roughly, 220 max
