2.0 diesel

Featured Replies

does anyone know if the 2 litre diesel in the Octavia suffers from the stutter that affects the 06 plate fabia 1.9 tdi and vrs?

Not entirely sure what this stutter is - had a quick look but could only find one post. However......

I find with mine that if you're driving on a partial throttle (say trundling along in a 30 limit) while the engine is warming up, that it feels like it's misfiring (which I know diesel's can't do). Once the engine is warmed up it seems to go away. Also seems worse at this time of year - I remember it doing it last year, but the symptoms must have gone by the time it went for service because I never mentioned it. Over the last month or so they've come back.

You can get a similar symptom from the cruise control if you're going downhill.

Not noticed any untoward behaviour on mine

Mine too ! same as Patnmand

While the engine is warming up, on partial throttle between 2300 and 2400rpm, also feels like it's misfiring. Goes after 15 mins or so

Andy

Not had any problems at all.

nope

There was a massive thread running last year on the subject; the answers seemed to be;

1. Although vw and audi have changed the vacuum valve block on some golfs and a3 under warranty skoda don't know about it.

2. Changing the EGR valve seems to cure it 90%; as it gets blocked fairly quickly.

3. My dealer told me I would have to live with the remaining 10% occasional hicups

Neither does the 1.9 PD in our 06 Octy II.

But our 06 Fabia stutters like a good 'un..........

Doesn't really bother me though and I'm sure that they'll sort it out sooner or later...

Occasionaly mine hesitates if I ease off the throttle then put my foot down again, feels like the car cuts out for a split second. I can't reliably reproduce it so am reluctant to take it to a dealership but it is a little annoying when it happens.
