I'm suprised any copper actually gives points for this offence unless the offender has a real attitude problem. Most officers are fairly reasonable believe it or not, and would probably just give words of advice and tell you to move on (Just my opinion of course).

FYI, make sure you don't overtake in the confines of a crossing as that too is a 3-pointer IIRC!

I didn't have chance to start an attitude problem, was unceremoninally dragged from the car and issued with points, fine and had the car number plate ran through their PNC!

Have no issue with being in the wrong, and paying a fine, but both?

If the copper bent down at the time of your body releasing natural gasses? Then, surely you cannot be done for that!
