Does MIB updates affect ECU?

Hi,

 

I upgraded my MIB firmware from 0475 to 0480 and since driving it I’ve noticed that the Karoq does not kangaroo much and throttle seems responsive.

 

It’s a SE Tech so no drive mode select.

 

Does such an update, update the ECU?

Or am this a placebo effect.
