Brake servo going bad

Featured Replies

Is the brake servo going bad for sure and if so, which cars have the same brake servo? Will have to visit my local scrapyard and there are no 1.8T RS AUQ.

Can it be something else like a vacuum hose? Thanks.

Hi Steve,

The car is still in the air .

I refurbished the master cylinder.

Replaced the ABS . Couldn't get any fluid from one inlets pipes in ABS unit.

Removed Master cylinder to double check my rebuild work.

I found that the reservoir was still not seating fully home . On the bench I found that when correctly fitted the brake fluid reservoir is fully  seated with little to no wobble. Plan of action

Refitted master cylinder . Apply sufficient force to fully seat reservoir.

Then see if  getting fluid out of both inlets in ABS unit .

Hi all

So I have checked all  the calipers . Replaced rear flexible hoses .

Replaced master cylinder .

So idrive it for a while and the car will come to a halt when free wheeling .

Has any one associated this to faulty servo ?
