Suitable Under Seat Stowage Box

Featured Replies

Hi,

After getting my 2 year old SE (L) 1.5 DSG I miss my very old car's under seat stowage and have been looking for a box but most seem to be too wide for a Kamiq!

Can anyone recommend a box that would fit OK?

Thanks

Buy the Skoda one?

I did not realise they did a box that slid between the rails from the rear of the front seat.

I will have a look.

Thanks

I have a stowage box under each of the front seats of my 2020 SEL, but they slide out from the front of the not the back.  They don't hold much either, certainly less than the similar layout on my 2011 Fabia.

The official Skoda box that slides out from the front is, as you say, very small.

I am just looking for a box to put under the seat from the back like these:

https://www.amazon.co.uk/Storage-Underseat-Organizer-Hidden-Replacement/dp/B0CB8Q1R3H

but on measuring the width available it is only about 375mm and i cannot seem to find one that would fit.

Yes, i know I should get rid of some of the items I usually keep in the car,  but would like a little more stowage space under the seats!

Regards

I have used a couple of the plastic storage boxes with lids sold by most of the tat shops, there are various sizes available and I have a shallower one under the drivers seat because of the now unused Bluetooth module.

I fitted 22mm plastic pipe clips to the rear faces (the snap in type) screwed into a small reinforcing batten inside, I simply slide the box under the seat then push harder and it clips to the round seat frame, then it will slide forwards, backwards and up & down with the seat adjustments.

They both hold a huge amount of stuff, there is a big unused volume under there and the factory storage drawers are tiny by comparison, the boxes cannot be seen by a thief looking in from outside or from the seating position but they can be withdrawn by feel when in the seat.

One of the best mods I have done made necessary by having a Yeti after the previous spacious Octavia Estates.

Can you remember where you bought the boxes<  I am stiil having a problem finding a suitable box that is 38cm wide?

Thanks

Tat shops!

One was B&M trading I think, the other may have been The Range or maybe I used a box I had bought from a Tat shop in France.

It was between 2 and 3 years ago, at the time most Tat shops had shedloads of plastic storage Tat boxes, the next time you go in they have moved on to other Tat and there is hardly shelf space given to the previous Tat.

So even if I could recall with any certainty its not likely to be of any help to you.

Pipe clips were probably 15mm ones.

Thanks,  she who should be obeyed suggested Dunelm and Range,  both of which  (and B&M) i will try in the next week!!

I use a lidded plastic box that is a snug fit under the drivers seat.

I stick a couple of pieces of sticky back hooked velcro under the box which secures it in place....but just pulls out easily.

The passenger seat has a first aid box secured the same.

PS. Bought mine on the internet where a vast array of sizes are available....have bought many over the years.

Hi,

I brought 2 small boxes from B&M went next door to Dunelm bought some velcro and stuck two strips with Gorilla glue as per photos, a little bit small but quit deep and only £2 a box!

Good enough for me.
