Hi all, I've had smoke and a burning smell coming from my rear brakes on 2 occasions now. Could this be the cold temperatures or something else ?

Yes, definitely low temperatures or something else: more likely a seized calliper, handbrake linkage or a stone behind a disc backplate.

Hi Paws, it's only happened during this cold spell so far, but I've had the handbrake off since the first time and it happened this morning, I've already got a set of discs for it from previous owner as they were going to do them when the pads needed changing but never got around to it. I'm going to get my nephew take a look as well when he changes the discs for me.
