Do I have a DSG gearbox ?

I have a Yeti 2.0 tdi 4x4 with 6 speed manual gearbox.

I have just been looking through my genuine Skoda workshop book to see what service items I need to do. I am a little confused as the book lists changing the oil for "6 speed DSG" and then in a different place for the "6 speed automatic".

I thought the "DSG" referred to the automatic and specifically I thought DSG meant the transmission has the dual clutch mechanism ( "direct shift gearbox" )

Does anyone know if my 6 speed manual gearbox is "DSG" ?

Then it’s not DSG. Broadly speaking DSG is a type of automatic gearbox featuring two clutches instead of one, allowing for much faster changes since the second gear can be kind of lined up while you’re still using the current gear. It’s DSG gearboxes which have made ‘flappy paddle’ shifters so popular these days - before DSG they were literally a waste of time.

Most likely explanation for the reference to 'automatic gearbox' oil would be that North American (and possibly Australian) versions are fitted with a TC automatic gearbox.
