dash warning lights for ABS/brakes

Featured Replies

code reader shows wheel speed sensor mechanical failure OR a sporadic electrical fault/implausible signal. I can't identify the fuse to check it. The warning light shows more often than not. 13 year old car so probs expected.

What is the code as read by your code reader?

Check your code here: http://wiki.ross-tech.com/wiki/index.php/Category:Fault_Codes

Usual cause is a faulty sensor, broken wire or, less so, corrosion of the magnetic pulse ring.

The code will tell you which wheel has the problem.

There is no fuse directly associated with this circuit.

My reply to pikpilot seems to have vanished. At least I can't find it.

The fault code is 00290 shown on my Foxwell NT500 which is the same on Ross-Tech. I have the new sensor which was cheap enough while fitting may not be. No fuse for the warning light means I can't outfox the MOT tester (a very good bloke but meticulous)

I hope this reply doesn't disappear into the ethereal vastness.
