Columbus Head Unit - DEAD?

Featured Replies

Hi Guys and Girls

Well today I seem to have the dreaded issue with my Columbus head unit. The previous owner upgraded to the Columbus unit.

I was driving along and the screen went black and I heard a thumb though the speakers and then for the rest of the journey the speakers kept thumbing, I have no sound and no screen.

I have had a quick google and there seems to be mixed feedback on this error, some are saying reinstall the firmware and some are saying to re-solder a chip inside the head unit.

Does anyone have any feedback on this at all, any help would be grateful.

My old mans an electrical engineer, so it willing to get the soldering iron out!
