Hi all i brought this for my partners car https://connects2.com/Product/ProductItem/CTUSK02 and I plugged the adapter into the car and then connected it to my kenwood dmx8019dabs but it dose not display any car info or car settings like it claims.

Has anyone else fitted one and got it to work?

Dis the Kenwood have a menu to display car info?

This canbus will just relay the info, not create a new menu in the head unit.

Therefore it will give you steering wheel control

It's not showing however the head unit is on kenwoods supported canbus list.

There's no mention on the Kenwood website here of that head unit displaying car specific information, just being CANbus compatible is not the same thing - you've got the wrong head unit.

You need one that specifically mentions displaying car specific information.

If you translate this page it says it can. https://www.kenwood.de/car/technologie/canbus/

Yes,

They must have listed it to say that it can give you steering wheel control and maybe factory mic.

What they did not mention is that the head unit has to have a menu for the car infos.

It is a marketing scam

French Kenwood website makes no mention of car info on the head unit

The link you sent says that what the canbus can manage then gives a list of units.

Some units manage car info and some don't.

Read the translation carefully:

For example, the steering wheel remote control can be used to its full extent to control the Navitainer.

Graphical representations such as the distance display of the Park Distance Control or the display of the current climate control can be clearly displayed on the Navitainer's large display.

No mention of being able to display the CAR menu, etc.

It's very carefully worded marketing bumpf designed to deceive.

That's my car. This is for my partners car a 2013 octavia.

Fort that price, i would go for a official swap then add a wireless dongle.

It is what i did in my car.

You keep all the stock functions

2013 is it   mk3 model?

Then go for the full standard swap.

You keep everything stock, add the wireless dongle (between 30 and 60 euros) and you are good to go

Pab on the forum will fix you up good
