Random Thought Time: Why no 7 seater option??

Featured Replies

I reckon in the III there would have been enough room to bring the rear seats forward a bit and add a 3rd occasional row a la the old Citroen CX & DS Familiale's

Skoda or VW decided that they did not want to do that then as they would have had a vehicle that could carry 7 just as long as they had no bags to carry.

Just like with the Sharran / Alhambra.

Maybe they thought they would not want their own loved ones in those back 2 seats be that facing forward or back as the HGV is about to rear end the Superb.

@Winston_WoofI had 2 of them.  Sensontronic gearboxes so no clutch pedal

I used then for camping and as a tin tent. Most we had seeping inside during severe weather / blizzard like was 5 of usfor a few days and nights.

In a standard wb Superb estate, the 3rd row of seats would be in the rear crumple zone; the CX Familaile has an extended wheelbase even relative to the CX Pallas, which brings the 3rd row of seats inside the wheelbase, and leaves some luggage space behind them.

Erratum corrected and expanded.
