just wondering if my car is supposed to have the adjustable mirror when I go into reverse.

 

tried to programme

it but nothing happens so wonder if it is anoptokn

If you have electric driver's seat then I believe you should have it.  This is relevant for MKIV Octavia.

Then I feel the passenger mirror won't adjust for reversing as I think it's linked to having an electric driver seat.

You also need to have memory buttons. The memory module saves the position of of the mirrors. That allows the car to remember the position to return the mirror glass to when you drive off.
