Retrofit Kessy?

Featured Replies

Is it possible for KESSY to be installed with a SWaP/FEC code or does it require additional hardware?

KESSY isn't SWaP

Does the car have keyless start? Otherwise keyless entry is a no go realistically

Yes, pushbutton ignition but you have to use the fob to lock and unlock the doors and boot. I can see various settings for Kessy on the central electrics controller (09), so I guess at least some of the software needed is there, but I can well imagine the function might need some extra hardware or wiring or a different type of transponder in the key or some such. For some none-critical stuff I'd risk temporarily changing a few adaptations/codings to see what happens, but the ability to lock/unlock the car really isn't one of the systems I'd want to risk taking a "suck it and see" approach on!

If you have keyless start then keyless entry requires

Door handle antennas (with wiring)

Replacement KESSY control module

Underbody antennas (with wiring)

Software modifications ( not just coding)

We've done the above a few times on MQBevo now

Sounds like quite a bit of work. What sort of price do you charge for that?

So why?.....personally, although kessy is convenient I wouldn't pay for it as an extra.

Far easier to unlock/lock via fob.

I‘m also interested in the topic!

My 2020 S3 „Style“ comes with start button from the factory, but the first owner decided to save the 150€ of the KESSY option.
Now I‘d like to retrofit it.

More detailed information is very appreciated!

Eg do I need to change the key fobs as well ?

What software (of what component) needs to be updated and how to do it?

thx!
