Columbus boot loop problem

Featured Replies

I have a 2014 Yeti  with Columbus Radio/Navigation. It has recently started to get stuck on a 'boot loop'. It shows the Skoda logo screen for a few seconds with attendant internal noises, it then goes to black and repeats ad infinitum. Very occasionally it achieves a boot and then appears to work normally. About 5 years ago it was updated to v5238 firmware. I still have the update disk but it aborts when it compares the firmware on the disk to that loaded, it won't do a re-install'. There is much written on the internet about similar issues, but most relate to the pre-5238 firmware.

Any possible cure suggestions much appreciated.

So lacking any other possible cures, I took it to 'SatNav Systems' just off the A3 in Surbiton. They (Hamid) assessed a faulty main board and changed it and updated the firmware and map data whilst I waited. Not cheap but I think a fair price for a very professional and friendly service.
