Octavia 2014 Infortaiment unit upgrade

Recommended Posts

Hello,

Apologies if this question has been asked previously.

I own a Skoda Octavia 2014 and am trying to upgrade its infotainment unit. I'm interested in knowing if it's feasible to replace it with any of the newer OEM units available on the market.

Has anyone tried such an upgrade? Or, would it be better to go for an aftermarket android unit?

Thank you.

You can update to a newer mib unit.

I see you don't have a gps. You can add a module with a fakra plug and be good to go.

I don't recommend android units as the call quality is crap.

Ask @pab567 to fix you up good, many of us have done it with his cooperation

@pab567 would I be able to use these 2 items together. Both are on ebay and from different sellers. They would go in my 2016 mk3 octavia estate, also would this need to be coded to my car? Ty

@pab567 I won't be with the car until 17.30, you did send me an update last year when I uploaded my old software picture.

The vin is the car serial number.

You can see it on the car papers

SmartLink - fully understood. It can be activated in your current unit. BUt what do you need oem sat nav, which is always outdated and offline, for if you have SmartLink and can use online navigation, which usually is actual and has traffic information available?
