Heater Blower Malfunction advice

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I drive an Octavia Mk3 2015

Recently my AC/hot air both stopped unexpectedly. No warning signs.

fuse was okay

removed my original blower motor and tested it, the motor worked fine but the resistor seemed damaged.

There was a voltage coming in through dash cable

vents all seem to be working okay

i bought a second hand blower-motor and resistor part to replace mine, now my air is working but it is often remaining on, even if I remove my key from the ignition and turn all power off the air continues to blow and cannot be turned off (with no engine running/key in!)

it continues until I disconnect the blower/motor cable manually

I wondered should I aim to get a second new resistor?

Or could there be a problem further up the electrics in my dashboard or elsewhere?

cheers

JC
