Snapped timing belt

Featured Replies

Hi. I’m going to change the timingbelt, pulleys and waterpump. But how do I know where to place the pulleys in the right position before putting on the new belt? Scoda Octavia 1.6 2016 model.

If the belt snapped when the engine was running you will at the very least have a set of exhaust valves to replace before worrying about cam timing, assuming that is the case as I cant think of another belt napping scenario then you should remove th cylinder head to inspect for damage.
