Hello, 

I have a 2011 octavia vrs and the rec counter needle and speedo needle no longer illuminate. Does anyone know how much work it is to get them working again?

Common problem. Unless you are an electronics engineer with the things you need for changing small surface mount devices, remove the whole cluster unit and send or take it to a specialist cluster repair company. Some even fix it while you wait.
