I have just had a reversing camera arrive from Express, after some very positive feedback from multiple users of the Skoda Kamiq owners Facebook page. Connected it up to make sure it worked and... Nothing. Put it in reverse and the parking sensors beeped, but no camera feed on the screen. Got annoyed and removed it all, replaced the infotainment screen and made sure everything still worked as it should... not quite. If I put it in reverse the sensors still beep and behave as normal but I no longer get the visual representation on the screen! 😮‍💨 So now I don't know if it's the camera or the install upset my car and the reason I couldn't see any camera feed is the same reason I can no longer see my sensor display...

 

Any thoughts welcomed!

Connect it up again and be sure to really push the connectors home. That seems to be a recurring issue, the connectors not quite making the full connection.

Don't plumb in all the wiring until you know it's working on your lap in the car, as it were.

The plug & play functionality of the camera changes the settings to the camera display, rather than the default sensor background, so the display settings seem to have been changed, but there's no camera display to feed.

If you're sure you've connected it right and there's still no feed from the camera, get in touch with the vendor.

 

I wish I could help, about to install mine from Sinosmart (via AliExpress)  it I've ordered the wrong shape for the door hatch switch housing.

Apparently if you have problems with the brand above unplug the camera then plug back in. Also, see the other thread on reverse cameras, the display should show the parking sensors/bleep along with the rear view of the camera.

It works on Skoda Kamiq 2023 SEDrive 1.5 DSG .(MQB+F).

I ordered  CAM B. Shown in pic.

It cost more than that though with tax added, probably different link, It's the Sinosmart though.

It'll be the second one I've ordered, I sent one back, it didn't fit, too small CAM A.

Also if you look at the CAM B it has chamfered corners on one side and square on the other, that matches my Kamiq 2020 model.

Whilst I had the unit out I measured it up and the opening match CAM B's measurements.

Anyways only just ordered it so hopefully it goes in ok. Their returns/refund system is fast so if you have problems no worries, first orders get a free refund.

Many thanks for the prompt feedback. I've actually ordeder and received the CAM B, however, on the first sight it looked too big, as I never was looking at it when opening trunk. Afterward, I was in garage and it looks like a good fit. I'm still waiting for the bonnet struts before I go to dealer to install start/stop memory, backup camera and bonnet struts as the car is still under warranty.

Will they fit that camera being as it's a non standard part, ie Chinese not Skoda recommended?

I believe they will as they've already put some not original parts onto the car like mudguards, dash cam and retouched small scratch on the bumper done by uknown assailant. Yes, they always tell me, I should by original. However, I pay hourly rate for their work. In the end the difference between retrofiting an original or chinese backup camera, as they have to do the cabling in both cases is that in the case of chinese they don't have to configure control units.

At that time (2,5 years ago), I got mine from a friend who found a "compatible" model that are still on my car, and there was no need for additional holes/screws apart from the original ones

The one from AliExpress (Sinosmart) didn't need coding, just plug and play.

Mine is fitted to a 2020 SE L. Hope that helps.

BTW still working fine 1 year on.
