[Fabia] Amundsen

Featured Replies

Hello everyone,

I'm a new Skoda Fabia owner, and i was looking for options to upgrade my infotainment system.
From what I discovered on the forum, I have a Amundsen unit with the SD card in the glove box.

Device part number: 5Q0035864A
Hardware: H24

Software: 0245
Current version: MST2_EU_SK_ZR_P0245T

Software update

- What is the latest software update for this unit?

- What are the benefits, any new features with the latest update?
- Software update is done via the secret menu (holding the menu button for 10 seconds) and the SD card?

Android Auto

- I have the SmartLink icon in the menu, however I can't access it without contacting the dealer.
Is there any other way to unlock this option, without going threw the dealer and the official code?

Sorry for multiple questions, I tried searching the forum but multiple topics ended up in PM therefore i didn't find out the outcome.

Thank you in advance.

0254 - sent you link on PM.

Unfortunately, I have no change logs 😞

Thank you for the quick reply, @pab567. Much appreciated! 👍
Does patching require VCDS/OBD11? I stumbled on MIB Toolbox for VW, is Skoda using the same for patching or it's a different principle?

I don'r use MIB Toolbox but I would expect it's gonna work as well for Skoda.

Sorry for the late update.
I successfully update the software. Thank you @pab567👏

Android Auto/Car Play was unlocked with MIB Toolbox & OBD11, following the instructions from the forum. 🙂

Hi everyone,

I seem to have the same unit details as @vracarac for my Skoda Fabia 2016, with the following information:

  • Device part number: 5Q0035864A

  • Hardware: H24

  • Software: 0245

  • Current version: MST2_EU_SK_ZR_P0245T

  1. Can I upgrade my unit to enable Apple CarPlay (SmartLink)?

I visited my local Skoda dealer, but they were unable to activate SmartLink. Although the icon is visible, they mentioned that the software is present but the hardware is missing. Given that this topic suggest otherwise, I'm curious if they might have overlooked something.

  2. How difficult is it to use the MIB Toolbox?

I have some software skills, but how much risk is involved in using the toolbox? Furthermore, where do i find the right toolbox and is it possible to do this without an OBD11 adapter?

Thank you in advance!

1) yes

2) You need the diagnostic tool to unlock the Green Menu so that you can then use the ToolBox.

Thank you @Cairus!

  1. I’ve read further into the toolbox and learned that, because my car only has a single SD card slot in the glove compartment, it appears I don’t have a navigation unit. As a result, I would need to use a USB-to-HSD cable. Is this correct? I assumed that having navigation meant the car must have a navigation unit, or what does it mean?

  2. Furthermore, if i would buy a OBD11 3, do i need the the pro plan also including credits in order to enable GEM?

Install ToolBox with SD Card

I just received a obd11 3 and tried to enable the developer mode, only to find out i get the error “function unavailable”. Is there anyone familiar with this and how to deal with it?

Update:

I finally got it to work and enabled the developer mode. I will try the toolbox as soon as possible.

Hi @Cairus ,

I just managed to install and run the toolbox, it worked!
Now i only see the option for for mirrorlink. How do i activate apple carplay and android auto? I guess it has to do with enabeling the adaptations for Google GAL and Apple DIO, but i cant seem to find the options within the obdeleven app. Another options might be that i need to swap the usb connector for an apple carplay compatible once. What should be the next best step?
