New Freelander

Featured Replies

I've been reading the supplement about the new Land Rover Freelander that came with this month's Car magazine. I must say, I don't really like 4x4's but I'm impressed. It looks like a shrunken Range Rover but funkier. Vast improvement on the old one.

Looks good!!! But i bet Reliability on these new Freelanders are still Shi*e!!!! :thumbdwn:

My dad's not had any problems with his Mk1 freeloader , though the interior is basic and the 1.8 engine underpowered.

The new one looks much better inside and the 2.2 diesel should be a nice drive

I think it was mainly down to the petrol ones, but there was alot of Electrical faults with them.....

After owning and driving some old Land Rovers I'd be surprised if it could get any worse - still, it all added to the "character" I suppose

I had a 2004 Freelander Serengeti TD4. I loved it but they was the BMW engine which made the car a real pleasure to drive and inspired confidence if i ever took it onto the rough. The 1.8 petrol K Series based version is gutless in comparison and they ate head gaskets for breakfast.

Not sure the 2.2 Ford engine is suited to the Freelander but time will tell.
